We are entering to an exciting transformative decade. The pandemic reshaped the lives of billions and forced societies to rapidly develop digital skills and instruments as away to keep economies going. In the light of these developments, European Union has initiated a number of regulatory and political initiatives that evolve around the development of digital skills, the resilience of digital infrastructures and digital transformation of business and public services in order for EU to lead in the global digital economy. The driving force of these developments is the need to create an “ecosystem of trust,” a model of data governance in line with Europe’s democratic values and fundamental rights.
The session aims at exploring the policies and regulations that touch upon critical legal issues and ethical dilemmas that arise in relation to the current status and future perspectives of the digital ecosystem.
